The BMW's 3.0 CSL Hommage R- why its back in the news after reveal in 2015

BMW Motorsport started racing in the US in late 1975. They used a customized IMSA-spec 3.0 CSL and started to win at many historic locations including Laguna Seca and Sebring’s 12 Hours. That white, livered CSL ended up winning the Championship of Manufacturers in its debut year.

The BMW’s 3.0 CSL Hommage was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours in 2015.  It did make a stir for a moment but was soon forgotten. Recently, Supercar Blondie did a vlog on this particular car and it became an instant hit among car enthusiasts. We are thankful to Supercar Blondie as she brought this amazing car into prominence once again.

For your reference, BMW Motorsport started racing in the US in late 1975. They used a customized IMSA-spec 3.0 CSL and started to win at many historic locations including Laguna Seca and Sebring’s 12 Hours. That white, livered CSL ended up winning the Championship of Manufacturers in its debut year.

To mark 40 years since that accomplishment, BMW has designed to commemorate this Hommage racing concept – in the style of the spectacular homage road design.

The car just doesn’t look fabulous, it sounds like an American muscle car. The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R’s exact engine was not disclosed but as the concept car comes with an eBoost charging indicator,

it is highly likely that it will use the ‘ powerful ‘ six-cylinder engine found on the 3.0 CSL Hommage.

BMW has done a great job with this car and you should certainly research more about this beauty.
