Great things in life are free. We humans can spend billions and produce a blockbuster movie, but cannot beat the beauty of the event of nature. Earth is home to so many unique places and creatures that it is impossible to show them all at once. We have randomly collected some of the most amazing places and events that have been caught on tape.

The Daintree Rainforest – Worlds Oldest Rainforest

Located in Australia, this tropical rainforest has inspired Holywood movies like Avatar and is a reminder that the Earth is a beautiful planet beyond comparison. Its ancient ferns, emerald green vines, and lush canopy make it unique and breathtaking. The people who have visited this place say that it is a divine feeling just to be there.

Fire Fall – A Spectacle to Behold

This is Yosemite National Park which is located in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains and is one of the most famous national parks in U.S. Yosemite National Park is a land of contrasts, with high mountains and steep valleys carved with ancient ice that cut deep into the earth. Water from a great height in the mountains falls in many places around the park creating majestic waterfalls. There are 13 beautiful waterfalls in Yosemite Valley with the Assembly Falls being the fifth highest waterfall on earth. But amazing as the scenery is and as majestic as the waterfalls are there is one waterfall that stands out from the rest it’s called Horsetail Falls better known as Fire fall. It is one of the park’s most amazing spectacles around and comes to its own in the second week of February. The Setting Sun meets the Horsetail Falls at just the right angle to light the upper reaches of the waterfall, and when the conditions are ideal, the horsetail falls shines orange and red at dusk, creating the impression that it is on fire. Every year at the end of February, hundreds of people assemble in the park to see this wonderful occurrence.

Catatumbo Lightning – A Neverending Storm

Fire Tornadoes – Unbelievable

Fire tornadoes – also known as fire tornadoes – occur as cold air mixes with hot air above to produce a spinning effect. Mostly occur in semi-arid regions of North America and Australia.

Black Sand Beach – A Masterpiece

Definitely not a conventional beach you go for a swim, but as soon as you see it you are awestruck. The black sand beach is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The best one is named Reynisfjara and is located in Iceland. Apart from the exquisite pitch-black coast littered with smooth pebbles and stones, there are massive basalt columns, hexagonal basalt blocks, spectacular lava flows, imposing walls, basalt cliffs, and breathtaking views of some beautiful stone arches in the background! With crashing Atlantic waves and thousands of birds nestling around cliffs and sea stacks, Reynisfjara is commonly known as Iceland’s most stunning black sand beach and attracts a lot of tourists. This black sand beach is a geological wonder. Natural forces spent millions of years to create this magnificent place. 

Flying Rays – A Ritual you don’t want to miss

Mobula rays are party to a magnificent ritual that will amaze you. Previously misunderstood, these rays leap about 6ft from the water and hit the surface of the water to create a big splashing sound. It is believed that it is a mating ritual and even females join this ritual. This nature’s great event is one to behold.

A Dolphin Pod – race to the finish line

A massive pod of happy dolphins was spotted off the coast of Laguna Beach, creating quite a majestic sight for the onlookers.

The Magnificent Auroras – Norway

One of nature’s greatest events is the Auroras that happen in both north and south poles. Best observed during clear nights, this magnificent illumination is a sight that once you experience will remain with you for a long time.

The unexpected Dance – Octopus from the deep

This beautiful octopus is measured to at least 4 meters long and is found at enormous depths of at least 5000 feet. Strangely, we know nothing about these Cirroteuthid octopuses other than that they frequently swim or float along the seabed where the light does not penetrate and the water is cold.

Our planet is forged by various forces and when these are on display these sights are one to behold. Some of these places are surreal and their beauty can only be experienced in person. If you get a chance to visit any of these places, make sure that you try to plan accordingly so that you can witness these events.
